Pirates Maintain Top Spot, Chiefs Drop Pts Again

Orlando Pirates continues with their good start after beating Sekhukhune United, while champions Kaizer Chiefs dropped points again and Stellenbosch FC hammered Orbit College to return to winning ways. 

Pirates made it four wins in a row after beating Sekhukhune United 2-0. The Buccaneers scored early in the first half before doubling the lead in the 65th minute. Roscoe Krieling’s side remain top of the table with 13 points after five games. 

Stellenbosch returned to winning ways after hammering Orbit College by 4-0. Quwan Plaatjies netted a brace, Keanan Johannesen, and Zaydee Marang scored the other goals. Stellies moved to third place. 

Sundowns overcame Chippa United 2-1, Oarabile Booysen scored in the first half before Ntokozo Siquba sealed the win in the 86th. Downs needed to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat against Richards Bay last week. 

Siwelele held Chiefs to a 1-1 draw and Amakhosi’s winless run extended to three matches after last two losses before this game.
