Chiefs Coach On Crucial Ambition Over Next Two Games

Posted on October 1, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef says the players don’t need to be told who they play for, in reference over their ambitions for the upcoming two games.

Chiefs take on AmaZulu on Wednesday evening with the chance to move back into the top three, and then the last-16 of the Carling Knockout against familiar foes in Stellenbosch – who they have managed to get the better of in recent times.

“I think we will try to manage all the players, our players know the situation and the importance of the upcoming two games, the first against AmaZulu in the PSL, the second with Stellenbosch in Carling Cup,” he said.

“They know the importance, we have started the analysis, our players know it’s not about for us to tell them what they have to do, we’re Kaizer Chiefs, we play to win every game, there’s no need to explain to them this situation, they know everything [and importance].”

Amakhosi have not scored more than one goal in eight games, the last came in the 2-0 win over a ten-man Stellenbosch in the season opener in Cape Town.

“The only solution [to imporve scoring] is to work, we have to work in training, repeat, analyse every training session, change what we see after analysis, we try to explain, bring other examples at the highest level to show the players,” he said about the scoring rate.

“The only thing we can do is keep working, we work until everything is fixed.”
