AmaZulu Star – Consistency Needed For Bafana Dream

Posted on September 26, 2025

AmaZulu FC defender Nkosikhona Radebe believes that consistently improving his performances and working hard could help his chances to be called up to the national team.

The 24-year-old joined Usuthu in January this year, making a mid-season switch that proved to be a pivotal move after parting ways with TS Galaxy. He is now the primary right-back for the Durban-based club.

He has kicked off the 2025/26 season in top form, featuring in all seven matches the club has played in all competitions – Betway Premiership and MTN8.

The talented right-back has openly spoken of his profound aspiration to don the national team colours of South Africa and while Radebe believes in his talent, he has admitted that he needs more inconsistency in his game.

“Being consistent has been an issue for me, contributing to my non-selection for Bafana,” he said.

“If I can be consistent in my game, I believe I can be better [as a player] and be even more better at Bafana [one day].”

Bafana coach Hugo Broos, throughout his tenure, has consistently provided opportunities to players from all clubs within the PSL, demonstrating an unbiased approach.

Bafana’s next camp is in October when they take on Zimbabwe and Rwanda in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
