Chiefs supporters react to defeat

Posted on September 18, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs supporters are not happy with Nasreddine Nabi following their 3-1 loss to Sekhukhune United on Tuesday evening.

Before Tuesday’s match, Amakhosi were the only team which had not conceded a goal, but found themselves 1-0 down in the opening five minutes of the game at the FNB Stadium. Two more goals in the second half handed them their first defeat of the season.

After six matches played, Chiefs sit third on the log with 13 points. In their last three matches, the Soweto giants managed to accumulate four points from a possible nine, leaving them three points behind log leaders Sekhukhune United.

What are Kaizer Chiefs supporters saying?

Nabi was forced to miss Amakhosi’s opening three matches due to a family emergency, and his assistant, Khalil Ben Youssef, took over and guided the team to three straight wins. Nabi returned before the Mamelodi Sundowns clash however Chiefs played to a goalless draw in that match, dropping points for the first time.

Some supporters felt Chiefs played good football under Ben Youssef. Under Nabi, Amakhosi only scored twice and collected four points in three matches.

@AHT_YssY wrote; “Put Nabi on leave and let the assistant Coach continue.. How were we able to play like a team under assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef but can’t even keep a clean sheet with Nabi back, let alone play 4 passes without fail?”

@theeNosh wrote: “The truth is, Nabi’s assistants are better than him. We saw how the team played when he was on leave.”

Some Amakhosi feel the club is still on track to challenge for the league despite Tuesday’s loss.

“Good morning Kaizer Chiefs supporters, I greet you all in the name of love and peace. We should take last night’s loss on the chin. But our technical team must know that the loss was self-inflicted. Building a winning habit starts with consistent team selection,” tweeted @Sgadi28.
