Pirates Secure Back-To-Back Wins eSgodini

Posted on August 26, 2025

Orlando Pirates picked up their second Betway Premiership win on the trot after a hard-fought 1-0 win over newbies Orbit College at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.

It was a match where no real clear-cut chances were created in the early stages of the first period with only Patrick Maswanganyi’s early shot at goal easily saved by Sekhoane Moerane.

Sipho Chaine almost gifted Orbit a goal when his clearance fell into Siyabulela Mabele’s path in the 41st minute before the Pirates number one made a quick scramble from his error to scurry across the goal line to keep out the shot.

The Buccaneers broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second stanza with Lebone Seema unleashing a ferocious shot giving Moerane in the Orbit goal no chance to make it 1-0.

Chaine was called into full stretch in the 70th minute from Mabele’s shot away for a corner.

The hosts then wasted a glorious chance to double their lead when Kamogelo Sebelebele was denied from close range in the 76th minute.

In the 80th minute, Lebone almost turned from hero to villain after being dispossessed at the back but had Mbekezeli Mbokazi to thank for an interception.
