Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Three signings
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Kaizer Chiefs’ latest signing, Asenele Velebayi, has described the day he found out he was officially realising his dream move.

The 22-year-old winger from Cape Town Spurs revealed that the first thing he did after hearing the news was pick up the phone and call his mom.

Velebayi, born in Phillipi, Cape Town, while originating from the Eastern Cape, finally became a Glamour Boy last week after the club tied him down on a long-term deal.

ASANELE VELEBAYI COMPLETES MOVE TO KAIZER CHIEFS

“I’m a young man from Cape Town, originally from the Eastern Cape,” Velebayi told the club’s media. “I can’t even describe the feeling.

“When I heard the news that I was officially joining Kaizer Chiefs, the first thing I did was call my mother and family to share the good news. I was so happy.

“It has always been my dream to come here and I aim to make the most of this amazing opportunity,” he added. “I started playing football at a very young age, around seven or eight, following in the footsteps of my two brothers. My first team was in the township where I’m from, Phillipi. When I was 11, I joined Ajax Cape Town, which is now Cape Town Spurs, and I have been with them the whole time until now,” Velebayi continued.

Kaizer Chiefs star fulfils his father’s dream

“I can play on the right, and as a number 10 as well, but my favoured position is wide on the left as a winger,” he reveals, although he’s totally committed to performing any role he might be called upon to fulfil,” he concluded.

Was that Mofokeng’s last match for Orlando Pirates?

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM HIM AT AMAKHOSI?
