Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their respective starting line-ups for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership season opener at Athlone Stadium.

Stellies started the season on a high note after defeating AmaZulu FC 3-2 in the MTN8 quarterfinal last weekend at the DHL Stadium.

Steve Barker’s side aim to end the hoodoo against Chiefs which saw them losing all three meetings last season.

Amakhosi aim to began their Betway Premiership season in a good note by getting maximum points, but they will have to do that without their head coach Nasreddine Nabi who’s attending emergency family matters in Tunisia.

Chiefs finished outside top eight in the past two seasons, and they would want to forget the past with a good start that will set the tone for the new campaign.

Amakhosi have won five of their last six matches against Stellenbosch and three points is what both sides will be gunning for after Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates dropped points on Saturday.

Here is how they line up:

Stellies Starting XI: Stephens, Moloisane, Enyinnaya, Nkwali, Mdaka, Butsaka, Palace, Barns, Cupido, De Jong, Titus

Subs: Langeveldt, Mcaba, Khanyi, Nku, Lekoloane, Jabaar, Phili, Mojela, Khiba

Chiefs Starting XI: Petersen, Cross, McCarthy, Miguel, Monyane, Cele, Ngcobo, Shabalala, Duba, Lilepo, Hlongwane

Subs: Ntwari, Kwinika, Frosler, Mthethwa, Ndlovu, Mabaso, Vilakazi, Sirino, Du Preez
