Official: Liverpool Confirm Shock Striker Exit

Liverpool have confirmed the permanent transfer of striker Darwin Núñez to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal.

Núñez, 26, has reportedly joined the Saudi side in a £53million three-year contract valid until June 2028.

The Uruguayan joined the Reds for £85m from Benfica in 2022 but he ultimately struggled to live up to the price tag, scoring just 40 goals in 143 appearances.

Liverpool FC can confirm Darwin Nunez has completed a permanent transfer to Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance.

Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future.

— Liverpool FC (@LFC) August 9, 2025

He won the Premier League title in 2024/25, the EFL Cup in 2024, and the FA Community Shield in 2022.
