South African winger Gift Links played an influential role, creating two goals and netting a free-kick in a memorable 3-2 away win for AGF Aarhus over FC Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga.
Links, 26, signed a new lucrative four-year deal with the club and has continued where he left off from last season, as an integral figure in the squad and creative outlet as a wing-back.
He fired a cross in which was deflected by a teammate and tapped in by Patrick Mortensen in the opening 10 minutes and for the second his delivery in the box ricochet between defenders before Tobias Bech made it 2-0.
Links eventually got in on the action with a direct free-kick which put them three goals up and sparked wild scenes which he celebrated in front of the home supporters after an outpour of emotion en route to their first win over the new season, which he apologised for.

“I take responsibility for that, because what I did was not okay,” he told TV2 Sport, as per Campo. “Normally I wouldn’t react like that. I don’t know what came over me, but I apologised afterwards.”
FCK rallied back with two late goals but it wasn’t enough to end their perfect start to the league after winning three games prior to the AGF visit.
Links has amassed 175 games for the Superliga club with 14 goals and 18 assists across all competitions since his transfer from Cape Town City in 2019.
