New Sekhukhune United striker Bradley Grobler has revealed that teammate Keletso Makgalwa has told him he wants 20 assists this season and the veteran forward has agreed to help him achieve that.
The two looked in sync in their first match as teammates in the 3-2 win over TS Galaxy in the quarter-final of the MTN8 where Grobler scored a brace in the side’s comeback victory at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Makgalwa assisted Grobler’s first goal and for his efforts the former SuperSport United forward got the man of the match award.
Speaking after the game, the 37-year-old admitted the partnership is one to look forward to and he has accepted his teammate’s challenge to get 20 assists.
“Yeah, I think it’s something we’ve spoken about, he wants 20 assists in the season, and I said I’ll help him,” Grobler answered iDiski Times when asked about the partnership.
“So, yeah, yes it is but at the same time I feel like, during the preseason I think it’s been a very easy team to adapt to. I think there’s a few players that I’ve got a really good understanding with already and I think it’s exciting, because that is a very important part of attacking football.
“And I think that’s something that over the last couple of weeks it has just happened very quickly, which is exciting for me and for the team.
“So yeah, I think Keletso, I can mention six seven players that we understand each other quite well already. So yeah, let’s hope he gets his 20 assists. It sounds good I’ll take it.”
