Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe highly praised new Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis after a stellar perfomance on debut.
Appollis made his Pirates debut against his former team in the MTN8 quarterfinals this past weekend and it took just 14 minutes for the Bafana Bafana winger to register his first goal in Pirates colours. He later created a penalty which Patrick Maswanganyi converted to see out the tie 2-0.
Mohafe, who has worked with Appollis at Rise and Shine praised the diminutive speedster stating that he has already improved at Pirates and highly praised new Buccaneers head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
“That shows that I taught him well. He took that to Pirates and the coach that is coaching him now has sharpened him,” Mohafe told the media.
“So that movement is a movement that we have been doing, and he knew the moment he gets that ball we must not give the space inside unfortunately the guy that was supposed to close that gap went to slumber land a little bit, he caught us.
“I think the Appollis that I saw today is another Appollis in terms of the movement ability, in terms of the playing ability.
“I think the guy is improving and I hope he can do so going forward.”
