Kaizer Chiefs most improved player wanted in Europe?

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been one of the few players who impressed during the pre-season.

Having struggled for gametime last season, ‘Mshini’ has earned himself a place in the team during the team’s pre-season tour in the Netherlands. According to Soccer Laduma, Ngcobo has attracted interest from European teams, prompting Chiefs to consider extending his deal.

“Last year it was not clear whether he was going to stay or not but this season it’s believed that things have changed and the club is willing to keep him because the technical team wants him to be part of the squad which will play an important part this season. And now it’s believed management has already exercised his one-year option on his contract so that they keep him until June 2027,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

Ngcobo’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs runs until 2026 but if the club don’t exercise the option to extend his deal, he could leave for free next season.

“The club is aware that if they don’t exercise his option as soon as possible then they could lose him for free or at least close to nothing because his contract was coming to an end in June 2026. So with the exercising of the one-year option it gives the club the chance to negotiate a better price if the move was to happen,” the second insider told the same publication.

Kaizer Chiefs kick off their 2025/26 season against Stellenbosch FC this coming weekend.

How good has Ngcobo been?
