Orlando Pirates have been the busiest side in the PSL transfer window.

Orlando Pirates have completed 21 new deals ahead of the 2025/26 season.

So, the Bucs have signed 11 new players. Meanwhile, Pirates have released 10.

PIRATES SIGN A WHOLE NEW TEAM WORTH OF PLAYERS

Pirates have signed Sipho Mbule (Mamelodi Sundowns), Yanela Mbuthuma (from Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (AmaZulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Abdoulaye S Mariko (Djoliba AC), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch), Oswin Appollis (Polokwane City), Kamogelo Sebelebele (TS Galaxy).

Therefore, they have signed an entire starting XI worth of players.

Most noticeably, Mbule, Moremi, Nduli and Appollis have all become Pirates players. They have signed FOUR Bafana Bafana players in Moremi, Appollis, Kwayiba and Mbuthuma. Whilst, TEN of their new players come from PSL rivals. Meaning, Mariko from Mali is the only international signing made so far.

BUCS RELEASE , MORE DEPARTURES LIKELY

Innocent Maela, Miguel Timm, Paseka Mako (Kaizer Chiefs), Thabiso Monyane (Kaizer Chiefs), Phillip Ndlondlo, Monnapule Saleng (Orbit College), Mohau Nkota (Al Ettifaq), Azola Tshobeni (Chippa United), Zakhele Lepasa (Unattached) and Goodman Mosele (Chippa United).

Talk about cleaning house. Pirates have released 10 players and they are not done yet. Katlego Otladisa, ‘Gilberto’ and Siphelo Baloni are all facing likely exits out of Mayfair.

NEW CAPTAIN, BIG MOVES TO CHIEFS AND EUROPE

So, Maela’s departure has opened the door to a new captain.

Tapelo Xoki and Nkosinathi Sibisi are the favourites to captain the Bucs next season. Whilst, Mako and Monyane’s moves to Kaizer Chiefs has everyone talking.

However, those aren’t even the most shocking moves. Pirates have loaned out superstar Saleng to Orbit College. This is a move nobody saw coming.
