Kaizer Chiefs want to tie down ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star

Kaizer Chiefs have ramped up efforts to secure the futures of their senior players, with the club taking decisive steps to build a strong foundation for long-term success.

Sirino set for contract extension at Naturena

Amakhosi have already initiated talks with seasoned midfielder Gaston Sirino regarding a contract extension, well before his current deal ends in June 2026. According to sources close to the club, Chiefs have tabled a one-year extension offer to the former Mamelodi Sundowns star.

“It’s the technical team that is believed to have recommended that Sirino should stay at the club beyond the expiry of his contract next year. They believe he has proven his worth at the club. So they are believed to have offered him a new one-year contract extension for his hard work and commitment to the team,” a source revealed.

Chiefs back Sirino’s influence on and off the pitch

Insiders insist that Kaizer Chiefs value not only Sirino’s technical ability but also his experience and leadership qualities. Club officials believe the Uruguayan playmaker’s presence in the dressing room has played a crucial role in nurturing the club’s younger talents.

Contract extension would keep until 2027

Sirino completed his move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs at the start of last season. Putting pen to paper on a two-year contract aimed at boosting Amakhosi’s midfield options with his proven experience.

If he agrees to the proposed extension, he will commit his future to Naturena until June 2027. This move clearly demonstrates the club’s strategy to blend seasoned professionals like Sirino with emerging young talents. As they push forward with their long-term rebuilding project.

Should Kaizer Chiefs add another year to Gaston Sirino’s current contract?
