Official: Stellies Confirm Basadien Exit

Stellenbosch FC have confirmed that left-back Fawaaz Basadien has completed a permanent transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns.

On Friday, iDiski Times reported that as per SABC Sport, a club-to-club agreement was reached for the transfer of the 28-year-old Bafana Bafana defender to Chloorkop.

Basadien becomes the third player to join the Betway Premiership champions in less than three seasons following the moves of Iqraam Rayners and Jayden Adams.

Stellies made the announcement on Sunday afternoon.

Basadien was recently crowned as the club’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign after amassing 111 appearances across all competitions during his three seasons in the Cape Winelands.
