Banyana vs Ghana Starting XI Announced

Banyana Banyana have confirmed their starting line-up for this evening’s bronze medal clash against Ghana at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

South Africa missed out on a chance to defend their CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after going down 2-1 to nemesis Nigeria while the Black Queens lost 4-2 to hosts Morocco in a tense penalty shootout after the clash ended 1-1.

The two sides will be facing off for the second time in this competition after Banyana emerged 2-0 winners in their Group C opening clash with goals from Linda Motlhalo and Jermaine Seoposenwe.

Head coach Dr Desiree Ellis has already urged her troops to try and get this win over the line for midfielder Gabriela Salgado who suffered a horrendous injury in their defeat to the Super Falcons as well as Jermaine Seoposenwe who bids farewell to international football.

“We want to end on a high note and obviously go home with our heads held high,” she said on safa.net.

“We want to go home with something, not just for Gaby [Salgado] but for Jermaine [Seoposenwe] as well. We were hoping to give her a fantastic send-off, but unfortunately it didn’t work that way.”

Here’s how Banyana lines up:

Banyana Starting XI: Dlamini, Mbane, Gamede, Mogolola, Mthandi, Holweni, Cesane, Motlhalo, Ramalepe, Seoposenwe, Magaia

Subs: Jane, Donnelly, Mohlakoana, Magama, Mhlongo, Swart, Magagula
