Kaizer Chiefs followers have been desperate for clarity. Etiosa Ighodaro, who recently played on loan at AmaZulu, had supposedly signed for Amakhosi.

With the Betway Premiership starting in less than a month, the 24-year-old Nigerian has still not been seen in a Kaizer Chiefs tracksuit.

According to the latest report, the towering striker is still a Sundowns player until June 2026. Amakhosi are therefore waiting on Sundowns to make a decision on Ighodaro.

Kaizer Chiefs are back into the spotlight this weekend. It is the Toyota Cup this Saturday, 26 July 2025, against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Kaizer Chiefs will do with some redemption in this year’s Toyota Cup against Asante Kotoko. Last year’s inaugural event saw a disappointing showing, as Amakhosi suffered a heavy 4–0 defeat to Tanzania’s Young Africans.
