Mamelodi Sundowns have bid farewell to seven players.

Mamelodi Sundowns have released SEVEN players.

Initially, Rivaldo Coetzee and Lebohang Maboe were released by The Brazilians. Now, another FIVE players have been released.

FULL LIST OF RELEASED SUNDOWNS PLAYERS

  • Rivaldo Coetzee
  • Lebohang Maboe
  • Sipho Mbule
  • Sanele Tshabalala
  • Thabang Sibanyoni
  • Sifiso Ngobeni
  • Lucas Suarez

As mentioned, Sundowns first officially released Coetzee and Maboe.

However, we were aware of Mbule’s exit before it was announced. This is because the former Sundowns midfielder and Kaizer Chiefs target is now an Orlando Pirates player.

Thereafter, four more players were released – Tshabalala, Sibanyoni, Ngbobeni and Suarez. So, their departures have been confirmed and announced alongside Mbule’s.

“The club has confirmed that Sanele Tshabalala, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sifiso Ngobeni, Lucas Suarez and Sipho Mbule have left the club,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

KAIZER CHIEFS AND ORLANDO PIRATES TO TAKE NOTE

Pirates have already acted fast, signing Mbule before his exit was even announced by Sundowns.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are in the position to do the same thing. Outbound Sundowns striker, Etiosa Ighodara is currently training with Amakhosi. Moreover, he jetted off to Europe with the Chiefs squad for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands.

Meaning, he will likely become an Amakhosi player. Finally, both Chiefs and Pirates are interested in signing the recently departed Sundowns player and Bafana Bafana star, Maboe.

“Other clubs reportedly vying for Maboe’s signature include Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, as well as Sekhukhune United. Babina Noko had previously expressed interest in the midfielder before his loan move to SuperSport. For Amakhosi, the interest comes amidst significant squad changes, with captain Yusuf Maart’s move to Austria reportedly imminent and Edson Castillo already released,” FarPost reported.
