Mamelodi Sundowns have released seven players. A few of them are linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Mamelodi Sundowns have released SEVEN players.

Meanwhile, both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are linked with a couple of The Brazilians who have recently left Chloorkop.

CHIEFS AND PIRATES TARGET MABOE’S SIGNATURE

Chiefs and Pirates are both interested in signing Lebohang Maboe.

“Other clubs reportedly vying for Maboe’s signature include Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, as well as Sekhukhune United. Babina Noko had previously expressed interest in the midfielder before his loan move to SuperSport. For Amakhosi, the interest comes amidst significant squad changes, with captain Yusuf Maart’s move to Austria reportedly imminent and Edson Castillo already released,” FarPost reported.

So, to date, this is the only Sundowns players that both Amakhosi and the Bucs are keen to sign.

Meaning, Chiefs and Pirates are in a bidding war with each other for the Bafana Bafana attacker.

BUCS SECURE SUNDOWNS SIGNING, AMAKHOSI CLOSING IN

Pirates secured Sipho Mbule’s signature before Sundowns announced his departure.

So, we already knew he was leaving The Brazilians.

Meanwhile, outbound Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro is currently training with Chiefs. He is one of the new faces who jetted off with Amakhosi to Europe for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands.

The other is speedster, Asanele Velebayi from Cape Town Spurs.

Therefore, Chiefs could also secure a Sundown’s player. Additionally, they can also do it before Sundowns announce his exit.

Stay tuned to The South African as we reveal all the latest player movements from Chiefs, Pirate and Sundowns – signings and departures – as they happen.
