Orlando Pirates have suddenly been left with just one recognised right-back following Deano Van Rooyen’s unexpected departure. His exit came after Thabiso Lebitso and Bandile Shandu also moved on.
Ouaddou has already acknowledged the problem, with Sebelebele unlikely to manage a schedule that could see him play around 60 matches across all competitions.
That makes a Betway Premiership-proven right-back an obvious priority for Pirates. Here is the first player the club could consider.
NKOSIKHONA RADEBE OFFERS ORLANDO PIRATES AN OPTION
Radebe has emerged as one of the more exciting full-backs in South African football.
The 25-year-old was born in Durban’s Ethekwini Municipality on 11 February 2001 and developed through the KZN Football Academy before beginning his senior career. He spent three-and-a-half seasons at TS Galaxy, where he gradually established himself and made an impact even when used from the bench.
In early 2025, Radebe joined AmaZulu, where his profile has continued to grow. He has since become a regular starter and an important part of the club’s defensive and attacking setup.
His numbers this season have already caught the eye. Radebe has registered three assists and one goal in seven matches, underlining the attacking threat he can offer from the right flank.
Additionally, Radebe has completed more than 115 passes at a 73.7% accuracy rate, while also creating five key chances for his teammates.
Defensively, his work rate has been just as impressive. Against Orlando Pirates, he recorded a 100% tackle success rate, five interceptions and 13 ball recoveries.
His ability to win possession and quickly turn defence into attack makes him a valuable presence on the right flank for AmaZulu.
His performances have also earned him impressive player ratings and Man of the Match awards, including in major Nedbank Cup fixtures. The defender has represented South Africa at both U-20 and U-23 level.

What makes Radebe particularly interesting for Orlando Pirates is his versatility.
Although naturally suited to right-back, he can also operate further forward as a right midfielder. His ability to carry the ball, attack the final third and deliver crosses gives him the profile of a modern attacking full-back.
He is also capable of contributing goals and assists while possessing the stamina needed to recover quickly and support his defence.
Radebe’s work off the pitch is another part of his development. He is known for studying his performances and putting in additional training to improve his positioning and decision-making.
Those qualities have translated into his performances, where his reading of the game allows him to make interceptions, recover possession and compete strongly in tackles.
For Orlando Pirates, the appeal is clear. They need another reliable option at right-back, and Radebe already has experience in the Betway Premiership while still having room to develop further.
He could therefore be a realistic option for Ouaddou as the Buccaneers look to strengthen a position that has suddenly become a major concern.
