Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns drop points with Orlando Pirates on the continent
The Glamour Boys are now unbeaten in their first six outings after Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate with Polokwane City. Lebo Maboe scored the Chiefs goal from a Pule Mmodi assist. The defending Betway Premiership champions had time off from their domestic affairs with a CAF Champions League qualifying clash with La Cure Waves FC. The Sea Robbers came from a goal down to win 3-1 thanks to strikes from Kabelo Kgositsile, Kamohelo Sebelebele and Yanela Mbuthuma. Pirates face Durban City in the league on Thursday, 17 September. What’s the Betway Premiership log situation?
Sundowns remain top with 20 points after eight matches. Pirates are second with 13 points, but have three games in hand on the Brazilians. AmaZulu’s impressive start sees them third on 13 points after six games, while Chiefs sit fourth with 12 points after six outings.
