Sundowns have targeted experience, attacking quality and defensive depth. They have also made moves that directly strengthened areas of concern.
From returning stars to a surprise move from Orlando Pirates, Kabo Yellow have been busy.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LAND FIVE SIGNINGS
The first major arrival was Antonio Van Wyk. The attacker returned to South Africa on 16 June after two seasons with Austrian side SV Ried.
His performances helped the club secure promotion to the top flight. Van Wyk previously made his name with Stellenbosch FC.
He now returns with valuable European experience. Then came Siyanda Ndlovu on 3 July. The 23-year-old was one of the most sought-after young attackers in the country.
He impressed for Lamontville Golden Arrows during the 2025/26 campaign. Ndlovu finished the season with four goals and six assists in 24 appearances.
Sundowns then reportedly hijacked a move that had been close to completion with Orlando Pirates.
Tsiki Ntsabaleng was another addition as he made his loan spell permanent. The forward took an unusual route into professional football.
He played college football in the United States before entering the Major League Soccer system. His return gives Sundowns another attacking option.
On 17 August, Cassius Mailula officially returned to Chloorkop. The academy graduate signed a three-year contract as a free agent.
Mailula had left for Toronto FC in 2023. He also spent time with Wydad AC and K.V. Kortrijk before returning home.
DEANO VAN ROOYEN SOLVES RIGHT BACK CRISIS
The latest arrival is Deano Van Rooyen. The experienced right-back joined Sundowns on 6 September. His arrival followed his departure from Orlando Pirates.
It also came at a crucial time for the champions. Khuliso Mudau is sidelined after suffering an Achilles injury. Zuko Mdunyelwa has also been dealing with injury problems.
That left Thapelo Morena as the main recognised option at right-back. Van Rooyen now provides immediate reinforcement.
The former Orlando Pirates defender brings experience and versatility to the squad. With domestic and continental football on the agenda, Sundowns have once again shown their ambition in the transfer market.
And with five new arrivals already through the door, there could still be more movement before the window closes.
