WHO ARE MASWANGANYI’S NEW CLUB AND BAHRAIN AL KHALDIYA?
Al Khaldiya were formed on 27 October 2020, and they are nicknamed the Lions of Bahrain.
They played in the second division of Bahrain’s football for a season before winning promotion to the top flight.
Al Khaldiya won the Bahraini Premier League for the first time in history in 2023, and this was just three years after their formation.
They successfully defended their league crown during the 2023-24 season following some impressive runs in between.
Maswanganyi’s new club then finished season at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
To date, Al Khaldiya already boast two league titles, four Super Cup titles and two King’s Cup titles.
And that is an impressive record given that they are just a team that has only been existing for six years.
