Da Cruz: Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns are incomparable

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has warned that his team is not yet at the same level as Mamelodi Sundowns.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a match which produced very few goalscoring chances at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Amakhosi took the lead in the 63rd minute through new signing Langelihle Phili, but returnee Cassius Mailula equalised for Sundowns just seconds after coming on.

Now, for Da Cruz believes Sundowns are a more solid team that his side due to the fact that the players have played together for years.

While Da Cruz admitted that Amakhosi have had a good start to the title race, he is of the view that it is still early days.

DA CRUZ WARNS AGAINST COMPARING SUNDOWNS TO KAIZER CHIEFS

“If you want to compare Chiefs and Sundowns, you can’t compare,” Da Cruz told reporters.

“Sundowns players have been playing together for six or seven years, and here we are at Chiefs where we arrived one-and-a-half months ago.

“Let us have time and we will improve step by step. It has been a good start to the championship, but there is still a lot of work to do, especially in offence.”
