Orlando Pirates officially unveiled their new store at the Mall of Africa in Midrand on Wednesday night, 29 July. It further strengthened the club’s commercial presence ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
ORLANDO PIRATES OPEN FLAGSHIP STORE
The grand opening marked a historic moment for South African football, with Orlando Pirates breaking new ground by launching a fully-fledged retail outlet inside one of the country’s biggest shopping centres.
Unlike most local clubs that rely on third-party retailers or matchday kiosks to sell merchandise, the Buccaneers now have a dedicated retail space alongside leading international fashion and lifestyle brands.
Orlando Pirates director Mpumelelo “Mpumi” Khoza officially opened the store during a private VIP launch attended by club legends Happy Jele, Lucky Lekgwathi and Brighton Mhlongo, as well as current captain Nkosinathi Sibisi.

The flagship outlet opened in line with the commercial release of the club’s new 2026/27 home and away kits. Supporters can purchase authentic adidas match jerseys, training wear, lifestyle apparel and exclusive club merchandise. The store also includes a kit personalisation station and displays celebrating the rich history of the Buccaneers.
BUCCANEERS CONTINUE COMMERCIAL GROWTH
The launch is another major step in Orlando Pirates’ commercial expansion after securing new long-term partnerships with Suzuki South Africa and Amstel Lager.
Club chairman Dr Irvin Khoza praised the project and acknowledged the role played by his sons, Mpumelelo and Nkosana Khoza, in helping modernise the club’s commercial operations while preserving its rich heritage.
The historic store opening comes just days before the start of the new Betway Premiership campaign, with the reigning champions set to begin the defence of their league title against Milford FC on Saturday.
As Abdeslam Ouaddou prepares for his first competitive match as head coach, Orlando Pirates continue to make headlines both on and off the pitch, reinforcing their status as one of the biggest football brands in South Africa.
