🚨 BREAKING: An investigation has been opened into potential match-fixing for sports betting during the 2026 World Cup.
According to a Council of Europe report, several incidents were flagged as suspicious, including Themba Zwane’s red card against Mexico, more than $4.5 million being placed on a draw between Spain and Cape Verde before it happened, and the nearly four-minute VAR review that ruled out Ferran Torres’ goal against Saudi Arabia.
FIFA says it has found no evidence that sports betting influenced any World Cup matches.
