Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly closing in on the sale of Glody Makabi Lilepo after reaching an agreement with Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi.
The DR Congo international looks set to leave Naturena after just 18 months at the club. During his time with Amakhosi, Lilepo scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 56 appearances across all competitions.

The latest update comes from SABC Sport journalist Mazola Molefe, who revealed that the two clubs have now reached an agreement.
“I promised you a Kaizer Chiefs story. It’s with regards to their striker or wingman, that’s Glody Lilepo,” Molefe said on SABC Sport.
He added: “I understand that Kaizer Chiefs have agreed a club to club fee with Al Ahly Benghazi in Libya.”
The update strengthens earlier reports from FARPost‘s Mthokozisi Dube. It had said Lilepo had already agreed personal terms with the Libyan club and that only the final details of the transfer remained.
KAIZER CHIEFS SET TO CASH IN
Lilepo joined Kaizer Chiefs from French side Valenciennes FC in January 2025. He immediately established himself as one of the club’s most influential attacking players.
The winger scored six league goals and registered one assist in just 15 Betway Premiership appearances during the second half of the 2024/25 season. He finished as Kaizer Chiefs’ leading league scorer despite arriving midway through the campaign.
He remained a key figure during the 2025/26 season. He managed 27 domestic appearances while scoring five league goals and contributing four assists. He also earned a nomination for the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season award.
The DR Congo international also made his mark in continental football. He scored a crucial goal against AS Simba SC as Kaizer Chiefs secured a 3-1 aggregate victory in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round.
The club-to-club agreement is now reportedly in place. Lilepo’s departure appears imminent.
