Kaizer Chiefs have left millions of supporters frustrated after failing to communicate whether Wednesday’s pre-season friendly against Al Kholood will be broadcast.
The match kicks off at 10:30 SAST at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre in Murcia, Spain, but with only hours remaining, the club has yet to issue any statement on viewing arrangements.
Supporters have flooded social media with questions, hoping for confirmation on whether they will be able to watch Fernando Da Cruz’s side in action as preparations continue for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
KAIZER CHIEFS’ RIVALS ORLANDO PIRATES PROVIDE CLARITY
The silence has become even more noticeable when compared with Orlando Pirates, who announced their broadcast plans more than 24 hours before their own pre-season fixture in Spain.
The Buccaneers confirmed that their clash against Córdoba CF would be streamed live on Pirates TV via YouTube.
The club also announced that the match would be broadcast live on SuperSport Channel 209, while supporters unable to watch would receive live updates across Pirates’ official social media platforms.
That early communication gave supporters certainty well before kick-off.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
This is not the first time Kaizer Chiefs supporters have found themselves in this position during an overseas pre-season tour.
When the Amakhosi trained in the Netherlands ahead of the 2025/26 season, the club also failed to provide clear information on match broadcasts.
Supporters eventually located unofficial YouTube streams last minute from third-party channels to follow the action after the club remained silent.
Many fans will now hope history does not repeat itself in Spain.
KAIZER CHEIFS FANS WAIT FOR ANSWERS
Pre-season matches offer supporters an early opportunity to assess new signings, young prospects and tactical changes under a new coach.
With Da Cruz overseeing his first pre-season as Kaizer Chiefs head coach, interest in the team’s friendlies has been exceptionally high.
However, as kick-off draws closer, supporters are still waiting for official confirmation on whether they will be able to watch the Amakhosi’s latest test against Al Kholood.
