Kaizer Chiefs have the opportunity to compete for more than R100 million in prize money next season as they prepare for a demanding campaign across five competitions.
If Amakhosi were to win every tournament they are involved in, they could earn close to R110 million in prize money. The total could fluctuate slightly depending on the exchange rate, particularly in CAF competitions where prize money is paid in US dollars.
Domestically, Kaizer Chiefs will compete for the Betway Premiership title, which carries a R20 million winner’s prize, the MTN8 (R10 million), the Carling Knockout Cup (R6.8 million) and the Nedbank Cup (R7 million).
On the continent, the CAF Confederation Cup winners receive $4 million in prize money, which is currently worth approximately R65.2 million.
Amakhosi’s first opportunity to add silverware and prize money to their cabinet comes next month in the MTN8.
Winning the competition would earn the club R10 million, with four victories enough to secure their first trophy of the new season.
Last season, the Soweto giants featured in three domestic cup competitions but were eliminated in the early rounds of each. Their league finish was enough to secure qualification for both the CAF Confederation Cup and the MTN8 this campaign.

New head coach Fernando Da Cruz now faces the challenge of restoring Chiefs to consistent success. With expectations high at Naturena, delivering trophies will be a key measure of his tenure.
