Orlando Pirates have parted ways with 13 players since the beginning of June as the club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the new season.
Of the 13 departures, at least nine players have the quality and experience to secure places at other Premier Soccer League clubs.
Fan favourites such as Tshegofatso Mabasa, Sipho Mbule and Thabiso Lebitso were released despite receiving limited opportunities under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Karim Kimvuidi, who spent last season on loan, was unable to showcase his abilities to the Moroccan tactician, while Gilberto struggled to adapt to South African football and was subsequently loaned back to Angola before his departure was made permanent.
In terms of outgoing transfers, Orlando Pirates have only sold Relebohile Mofokeng, who completed a move to Belgian champions Royal Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Buccaneers have already strengthened their squad with seven new signings. However, with pre-season preparations underway, Ouaddou could still look to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes.

The first wave of departures included Thabiso Lebitso, Bandile Shandu, Sipho Mbule, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Karim Kimvuidi and Gilberto. During the same period, star midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng secured his move to Belgium.
This week, Pirates confirmed the exits of Thabiso Sesane, Selaelo Rasebotja, Siyabonga Ndlozi, Gomolemo Khoto, Sonwabo Khumalo, Blessing Ngiba and Seth Green.
Despite the significant squad overhaul, Orlando Pirates head into the new campaign as the defending Betway Premiership champions after ending a 14-year wait for the league title last season.
