Relebohile Mofokeng’s mother sounds adamant that her 21-year-old son should leave Orlando Pirates ASAP. The Bafana star shone for South Africa in their history-making 1-0 victory over South Korea. It’s a result that sent Bafana to their first-ever appearance in the World Cup knockouts, where they fell to a late goal by Canada. Talk of a move to the Belgian side Union-St Gilloise is intensifying by the hour. An offer of €4 million (R75 million) is on the table.

The 20-year-old earned rave reviews for his stellar defensive displays. Now, seemingly, the guy is already a celebrity around South Africa. Nicknamed ‘TLB’ for his aggressive, heavy-duty playing style, Mbokazi is also a wonderfully clean distributor of a football with that cultured left foot.
