Relebohile Mofokeng will complete a move to Belgian giants Union Saint-Gilloise after Orlando Pirates reached a verbal agreement over the transfer of the highly rated attacker.
After spending six years at the club, the 21-year-old will leave the Buccaneers to fulfil his long-held dream of playing in Europe.
On Wednesday, Pirates confirmed they had reached a verbal agreement with the Belgian side for the transfer of the talented playmaker, with the move now expected to be finalised in the coming days.
Mofokeng departs the Soweto giants after making 125 appearances in all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 31 assists. During his time at the club, he established himself as one of South Africa’s brightest young talents and played a key role in Pirates’ recent success.

He leaves with an impressive haul of eight major trophies, including last season’s domestic treble, cementing his status as one of the club’s standout players of his generation.
His performances also earned him regular call-ups to Bafana Bafana, where he represented South Africa at two major international tournaments.
Mofokeng knew Orbit College game was his last for Orlando Pirates
There were emotional scenes following Pirates’ 2-0 victory over Orbit College, which sealed the league title. Mofokeng was seen in tears after the final whistle, sitting alone on the pitch while his teammates celebrated the championship.
At the time, many supporters believed the emotional moment signalled that it would be his final appearance for the Buccaneers, a feeling that has now been confirmed with his imminent move to Belgium.
Orlando Pirates will not only lose Mofokeng but as well as Oswin Appollis. The speedy winger has been linked with several European teams in the past few weeks.
