Kaizer Chiefs’ new technical team is taking shape following the announcement of Fernando Da Cruz as their new head coach.
Thereafter, Amakhosi announced the arrival of Egyptian coach Mahmoud Abbas as assistant coach, further strengthening their revamped technical team. Now, fresh reports suggest a familiar face could be heading back to Naturena as part of the club’s new era.
REPORT: FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS COACH IN LINE FOR ASSISTANT ROLE
According to recent reports, former Kaizer Chiefs coach Dillon Sheppard is set to be appointed as the club’s second assistant coach.
“After confirming the appointment of Fernando Da Cruz as head coach, Kaizer Chiefs are set to bolster the Frenchman’s technical team with the addition of Dillon Sheppard, FAR Post has learnt,” the publication reported.
So, if these reports are true, Sheppard would join Abbas as the his second assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi have already strengthened their off-field structure with the appointment of another Frenchman, Julien Le Heran. The french-born man has taken over as the club’s Head of Sports Science Development.
Ultiately, Sheppard is expected to serve as second assistant coach. Working alongside Abbas and Le Heran under Da Cruz. Abbas will be the other Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach. While, Le Heran oversees the club’s sports science department.
CHANGES UNDERWAY AT NATURENA
Kaizer Chiefs’ technical department is undergoing a major transformation, with a new head coach, two assistant coaches and a new head of sports science all arriving ahead of the new campaign.
Additionally, significant changes have also begun within the playing squad, with player movements confirmed both in and out of Naturena.
Aden McCarthy became Chiefs’ first confirmed departure of the transfer window. After completing a move to Azerbaijan Premier League champions Sabah. The highly rated young defender is now set to feature in the UEFA Champions League following Sabah’s qualification for the 2026/27 competition.
