George Matlou to Exit Kaizer Chiefs as Contract Nears End

Kaizer Chiefs have decided not to renew midfielder George Matlou’s contract, with the player set to depart the club when his deal expires at the end of June.

The 28-year-old joined Amakhosi ahead of the 2023/24 season but struggled to cement a regular place in the team’s midfield. His limited game time has prompted the club to release him as part of their ongoing squad restructuring.

Chiefs are expected to announce further player movements in the coming weeks as they reshape their roster under new management. Matlou’s next destination remains unknown, though he could attract interest from other DStv Premiership sides seeking midfield reinforcements.

The club has yet to issue an official statement regarding Matlou’s departure.
