Veteran South African coach Pitso Mosimane appears to be closing in on his next managerial role, with growing speculation that a major announcement about his future is imminent.
Rumours surrounding the 61-year-old’s next destination intensified after his management team reportedly created a WhatsApp group titled “Coach Pitso Announcement”, signalling that news regarding his future could soon be revealed.
Without a club
Mosimane, one of Africa’s most decorated coaches, has been without a club since leaving Iranian giants Esteghlal FC in January 2025 following a dispute over unpaid salaries.
The prolonged spell on the sidelines marks the longest period he has spent without a coaching position during his illustrious career.
Several clubs have been linked with the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly boss in recent months.
Reports in Egypt have suggested that newly crowned African champions Pyramids FC are considering Mosimane as a potential successor to Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurcic, although no official decision has been announced by the club.
Back in South Africa, long-standing speculation linking Mosimane with Kaizer Chiefs has resurfaced once again.
However, recent reports suggesting Amakhosi are exploring other coaching options have cast doubt on a possible move to Naturena.

Mosimane added fuel to the speculation with a cryptic social media post hinting that a significant development is on the horizon, although he stopped short of revealing any details.
The former Bafana Bafana coach remains one of the most sought-after tacticians on the continent, having enjoyed trophy-laden spells with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, where he won multiple domestic titles and three CAF Champions League crowns.
