Orlando Pirates are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season despite securing a historic treble in the 2025/26 campaign.
The Buccaneers have reportedly completed several signings in recent weeks, although they will only be able to officially register and unveil the players when the transfer window opens on July 1.
Last season, Pirates made a number of high-profile acquisitions, including Sipho Mbule and Oswin Appollis, and were rewarded with three trophies.
According to reports, Pirates have secured the signature of Mthetheleli Mthiyane from Stellenbosch FC. The 25-year-old defensive midfielder is expected to provide a long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula.
The Soweto giants already strengthened their midfield from Stellenbosch last season when they signed Sihle Nduli.
Orlando Pirates to bring new players
Another player believed to be on Pirates’ radar is Golden Arrows star Siyanda Ndlovu. The versatile winger enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists in 31 appearances.
Ndlovu is reportedly viewed as a potential replacement for Relebohile Mofokeng, who is expected to complete a move to Europe in the coming weeks.
Orlando Pirates have also been linked with Siwelele FC winger Bohlale Ngwato.
Although the youngster has had limited game time with the Free State-based outfit, he is said to have impressed the Buccaneers’ scouting department and could be among the club’s first arrivals ahead of the new campaign.
In terms of departures, Pirates have reportedly parted ways with midfielder Sipho Mbule. The Bafana Bafana international joined the club on a one-year deal, but the Buccaneers have opted against extending his stay.
Defender Thabiso Lebitso could also be heading for the exit door. Reports suggest a potential swap deal involving Stellenbosch FC, with Mthiyane moving to Orlando Pirates while Lebitso joins the Cape Winelands side.
