Hugo Broos has announced his 26-man squad to tackle the finest the planet has to offer at the 2026 World Cup. Eight Orlando Pirates players have been included. They are Sipho Chaine, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Thalente Mbatha, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, Relebohile Mofokeng and Evidence Makgopa. South Africa contests Group A, which also includes Mexico, Czechia and South Korea. Will Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly be supporting Bafana all the way from London?

Mofokeng and Appollis hope to take Orlando Pirates form to the World Cup
Meanwhile, 21-year-old winger-cum playmaker Rele Mofokeng will play a pivotal role in the Americas for Hugo Broos’ side. There’s not a day that goes by that publications aren’t speculating as to where he might be playing his club football next season. If he shines in the Americas, there could be some big-name suitors. Mofokeng bagged 10 goals and eight assists from 27 league appearances, helping Pirates to their first league title in 14 years. 24-year-old Oswin Appollis has also had a season to remember for the Sea Robbers. He appeared in all 30 matches of a title-winning season, contributing nine goals and six assists in the league, a healthy output of 15 direct goal contributions.
