As reported on Tuesday, Kaizer Chiefs officially announced the departures of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef, Cedric Kaze and the conditioning coach Majdi Safi.
Despite reported talks over the appointement of Manqoba Mngqithi in recent weeks, a new candidate has emerged.
KAIZER CHIEFS SHORTLIST SVEN VANDENBROECK
According to Kick Off, the 46-year-old Belgain has become a subject of interest for the head coaching gig at Naturena.
“According to sources close to Chiefs, former Wydad AC and CR Belouizdad coach Sven Vandenbroeck has been shortlisted for the now vacant position ahead of the new season,” the outlet said.
A source close to the Soweto giants told the reporter Ernest Fakude: “There are a number of coaches that have been linked to the head coach position at Kaizer Chiefs. There has been contact with one Belgian coach (Vandenbroeck) and there are chances that he might join Chiefs.”

Vandenbroeck, a UEFA Pro Licence holder, has with one of the strongest CVs currently linked to the Kaizer Chiefs job.
He has built a reputation across Africa and Europe, winning league titles, domestic cups and competing at the highest continental level. His experience stretches from Tanzania, Morocco and Algeria to Belgium, while he also played a role in Cameroon’s AFCON triumph alongside Hugo Broos.
Importantly for Kaizer Chiefs, Vandenbroeck also has a strong history of working collaboratively within club structures and adapting to different football environments, something that could prove valuable in the Naturena setup.
