Football moves tend to be unpredictable. Former Orlando Pirates star Zakhele Lepasa moved to Siwelele FC with an chance for a fresh start.
Instead, the Soweto-born star endured a difficult campaign with only three appearances and one league start all season.
The former Buccaneer arrived without a full pre-season and only joined the group properly during the AFCON break between December and January.
LEHLOHONOLO SEEMA BACKS FORMER ORLANDO PIRATES STAR ZAKHELE LEPASA
Despite the lack of minutes, coach Lehlohonolo Seema has suggested the story may not be finished.
“With the season overall, Zakhele has been working very hard,” Seema revealed. “He hasn’t played in a long time, and he’s one guy who is strong mentally, but I had to change a lot of things in my training, and some of them proved to be difficult for some of the players.
“I needed to make sure I looked after the player’s welfare, and he played, I think two games, and he continues to fight for his position,” Seema said.

The coach also pointed to the wider challenge faced by players who joined clubs without rhythm or preparation.
STRIKER STILL HAS TIME
Seema believes it remains difficult to judge Lepasa properly because of the limited opportunities.
“I cannot say I’ve got an overall assessment of Lepasa because he hasn’t had a fair amount of games. We are still looking forward to seeing him more.
“A lot of players here were just unlucky, they did not do pre-season. It’s either they did not have a team or did not have game time at their (previous) clubs.”
Lepasa still has one year left on his contract and is expected to remain with Siwelele going into next season.
