Kaizer Chiefs to bid farewell to FOUR strikers, Pirates to sign Mahlambi?

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to be among the busiest clubs in the upcoming transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The Soweto giants could part ways with at least 10 players, with several attackers reportedly heading for the exit door after an underwhelming campaign.

Ashley Du Preez, Etiosa Ighodaro, Khanyisa Mayo and Tashreeq Morris are all facing uncertain futures at Naturena.

Collectively, the four forwards have managed just four goals this season, highlighting Chiefs’ struggles in front of goal.

Will Kaizer Chiefs keep Mayo?

Mayo, who returned to South Africa on loan from Algerian side CR Belouizdad, has failed to make the desired impact since his arrival.

Unless Amakhosi decide to activate a reported R10 million purchase option, the striker is likely to return to Algeria at the end of the season.

While several forwards have disappointed, Guinea-Bissau striker Flavio Silva has emerged as one of the few bright sparks in attack.

Despite a slow start during pre-season, Silva has scored eight league goals and has often carried the attacking burden for Amakhosi.

The towering striker has benefited from support provided by Glody Lilepo, Wandile Duba and Mduduzi Shabalala in recent months.

Kaizer Chiefs linked with attacking reinforcements

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to target proven attacking players in the next transfer window as they look to solve their long-standing scoring problems.

Golden Arrows striker Junior Dion has been heavily linked with Orlando Pirates, but Chiefs could still attempt to hijack the move.

The prolific Ivorian forward has attracted interest from clubs both locally and abroad following an impressive season.

Another player reportedly attracting attention is TS Galaxy winger Seluleko Mahlambi.

The speedy attacker has also been linked with Pirates, especially with Relebohile Mofokeng expected to secure an overseas move in the near future.

Although Kaizer Chiefs already boast exciting winger Asanele Velebayi, adding a player of Mahlambi’s quality could significantly improve their attacking depth, particularly if the club secures CAF Confederation Cup football next season.

Who shoulf Amakhosi go for?
