Argentina Announce 55-Man Provisional World Cup Squad
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Defending champions Argentina have announced their 55-man provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Lionel Messi set for his sixth global showpiece.

Messi, 38, lifted his first World Cup trophy in 2022, when he also won the Golden Ball after scoring seven goals and setting up three more.

It was Argentina’s third title in history after 1978 and 1986, and they again qualified for the tournament after topping the CONMEBOL ranking.

At the tournament in Mexico, the United States & Canada, Argentina have been drawn in Group J, alongside Algeria, Austria, and Jordan – kicking off their tournament against Desert Foxes.
