Who is the new Top Billing presenter? Meet Bryoni Govender

Top Billing has announced new presenters joining the series this season, one of which is beauty queen Bryoni Govender. Who is she?

BRYONI GOVENDER JOINS ‘TOP BILLING’

Top Billing is making a comeback in 2026 and soon after the announcement, has revealed the new talent joining legacy presenters Dr. Michael Mol, Basetsana Kumalo, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Dr. Fez Mkhize, and Ryle De Morny.

“Bringing together a mix of iconic Top Billing presenters and exciting new talent was a very intentional decision,” said Bradley van den Berg, Chief Operating Officer at Cardova Productions and Executive Producer of the show.

“This season is about honouring the legacy that audiences know and love, while evolving the show to reflect the energy, diversity and ambition of modern South Africa,” he continued.

Former Miss SA and Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Sine Mpulu Miss South Africa 2023 runner-up Bryoni Govender and Blood & Water star Arno Greeff have joined Top Billing as the new presenters. So, who is Bryoni Govender?

BRYONI GOVENDER IS A QUALIFIED LAWYER

Miss Supranational South Africa studied her Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) at the University of Johannesburg. She is a qualified lawyer and worked as a trainee associate. Just after placing as a Miss SA finalist, she quit her job. The beauty queen was admitted as an attorney in July 2023.

She became the Miss SA 2023 runner-up and represented South Africa at the Miss Supranational pageant in 2024.

Bryoni is from Kempton Park in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

The beauty queen is in a relationship with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.

FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN INDIAN TO REPRESENT SOUTH AT MISS UNIVERSE SINCE 1997

Bryoni was the first person of Indian heritage to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant in over 20 years. Kerishnie Naiker was placed in the Top 10 at the Miss Universe pageant in 1998. This made Bryoni the second person of Indian heritage to represent South Africa at Miss Universe, ever.

“My time at Miss Universe was such an unforgettable experience filled with great memories and forming new relationships. The biggest thing I learnt is to always possess a winning mentality no matter the outcome. I believe that winning is not the only measure of success. Personal growth, learning, and self-discovery are equally important,” she said exclusively to The South African.
