A number of Orlando Pirates players enjoyed a handsome pay day for Bafana Bafana against Panama at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban last Friday evening.
South Africa will rue missed chances, but can hold their heads up high for fighting back from a goal down to secure the 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, a couple of Orlando Pirates stars banked some decent money as a result of their efforts.
ORLANDO PIRATES STARS TAKE HOME R30 000 EACH
According to Sportplus, each Bafana Bafana player is paid R30 000 for a draw and R60 000 for a win.
So, with South Africa having been held to a 1-1 draw, the players were each paid R30 000.
This is how much Orlando Pirates starters Tshepang Moremi and Oswin Appollis banked as well as substitutes Relebohile Mofokeng, Thalente Mbatha and Evidence Makgopa.
It’s unclear whether the unused substitutes were paid the same amount. I they were, then Nkosinathi Sibisi also banked R30 000 for warming the bench throughout the 90 minutes.

MORE BUCKS UP FOR GRABS FOR BUCS
There is more money up for grabs for these Orlando Pirates stars when they take on Panama in a second friendly at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, 31 March.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
Orlando Pirates currently have half a dozen players in Hugo Broos’ 23-man Bafana Bafana squad.
However, they will be hoping to add one or two more to the mix before South Africa jets off to the United States, Mexico and Canada for FIFA World Cup 2026.
In the current Bucs squad, it is Sipho Chaine and Sipho Mbule who have the best chance of still making the cut in time for football’s greatest showpiece.
Chaine’s exclusion came as a surprise to many. Broos attributed his omission to disciplinary issues.
This suggests that if he improves in that regard, he will likely rejoin the Bafana Bafana squad.
Meanwhile, Mbule faces an uphill battle to return to the national side as he’s struggled with injury and has not been in top form over the past couple of months.
How many Orlando Pirates players will travel to FIFA World Cup 2026?
