Orlando Pirates dropped points against Siwelele in a match where Ricardo Goss produced an outstanding performance in goal.
That result allowed Mamelodi Sundowns to move ahead, although Pirates responded with a strong win over TS Galaxy.
ORLANDO PIRATES STAY IN THE FIGHT
“The league is a marathon, obviously we’ll have hiccups here and there, but looking at what people are saying, I don’t think it’s more important, we’re still left with eight games to play, so if people are saying the league is done, I don’t think it’s done,” Lebitso said.
The defender remains confident that there is still plenty to play for.
“We won 6-0 now there’s a different perspective of what they see, so it’s a marathon, we push it as much as we can and take it until the end.”
TITLE RACE FAR FROM OVER
With games still remaining, momentum could shift quickly in the coming weeks. Lebitso will also be looking to fight his way back into the starting line-up when Orlando Pirates return to action.
Lebitso joined Orlando Pirates in January 2024 from Chippa United, quickly making a name for himself as a dynamic right-back and wing-back.
His standout moment came during the Soweto Derby in March 2024, where he scored a spectacular long-range “screamer” to equalise against Kaizer Chiefs. This goal earned him the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award and immediately cemented his status as a fan favourite.
Following his debut season, Lebitso faced significant setbacks due to a broken collarbone in April 2024 and a subsequent knee injury that sidelined him for much of the early 2024/25 campaign.

He successfully returned to action later that season, helping the club secure both the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup titles. By the current 2025/26 season, he remains a key defensive asset, noted for his tactical composure and high work rate on the right flank.
