Pirates coach Ouaddou wants glory for African coaches
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The 6-0 win over TS Galaxy in Mbombela pushed Orlando Pirates back to the top of the Betway Premiership standings, with Relebohile Mofokeng leading the way with a hat-trick in a match where everything seemed to click.

Yet, even in a dominant display, coach Abdeslam Ouaddou used the moment to address something that has been building among sections of the fanbase.

ORLANDO PIRATES COACH ADDRESSES THE CROWD

Ouaddou made it clear that while the support in Mbombela has been strong, not all reactions from the stands have reflected that same energy, especially when players make mistakes.

“I think it’s more than a reaction, it’s a fantastic game for us, it’s a very good answer for people who have a doubt about commitment, about the commitment of the boys. You know, I always say that there’s nobody in our team coming on the pitch with the willing to lose or willing to draw,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV after the match.

“And I think some people need to understand that all people, players are sweating in the shirt and it’s simple we scored six goals today because we had a fantastic support by the true fans – every time we come here in that city we have a fantastic support.

“Every time we go to Durban, we have a fantastic support and the players – the players they feel that support. Unfortunately, when you miss the ball or you draw people start to boo the players, it’s not the true supporters. And you can see that when people support- the players they gave everything.

“So, congratulations to the boys today – we send the strong message that we are not tired and we going to fight until the last second like I said,” he added.
