Orlando Pirates’ title hopes are no longer in their own hands after a disappointing draw with Siwelele. Here’s what’s next.

Siwelele dent Orlando Pirates’ title charge

The Sea Robbers drew had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Siwelele on Saturday afternoon, meaning they could only stretch their lead at the summit of the Betway Premiership to a single point. Sundowns then got their side of the bargain done, beating Gallants 3-1 to take a two-point lead at the summit. Ex-Orlando Pirates star Vincent Pule opened the scoring, assisted by former Kaizer Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane. Tshepang Moremi scored the Sea Robbers equaliser. Next up for Pirates is a trip to TS Galaxy on Sunday, 22 March, with kickoff at 15:30. The match will be aired on DStv Channel 202.

Orlando Pirates’ remaining fixtures

  • Sunday, 22 March vs TS Galaxy, Mbombela Stadium – 15:30
  • Tuesday, 7 April vs Golden Arrows, Orlando Stadium – 19:30
  • Friday, 10 April vs Richards Bay, Richards Bay Stadium – 19:30
  • Saturday, 18 April vs AmaZulu FC, Orlando Stadium – 15:00
  • Saturday, 25 April vs Kaizer Chiefs, FNB Stadium – 15:00
  • Tuesday, 5 May vs Stellenbosch FC, Athlone Stadium – 19:30
  • Saturday, 9 May vs Magesi FC, Seshego Stadium – 20:00
  • Saturday, 16 May vs Durban City, Orlando Stadium – 15:00
  • Saturday, 23 May vs Orbit College, Royal Bafokeng Stadium – 15:00

According to reports, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq has placed a €3 million (R57 million) valuation on Mohau Nkota’s head. The 21-year-old wide attacker hasn’t really set the world alight for his new side, managing a meagre two goals and three assists in 17 Saudi Pro League outings this term.
