Kaizer Chiefs will be without two key players when they host Durban City this weekend.
Amakhosi play Durban City at the FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking to end their three match winless streak. They will have to do that without defender Aden McCarthy and midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa
These players are suspended after receiving their fourth yellow cards.
The Soweto giants will also be without captain and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, who underwent surgery last month. The 31-year-old is expected to return to action end of March.
Kaizer Chiefs new man out for the season
Amakhosi will have to limp home to third if they are to salvage their season. It was reported that midfielder George Matlou’s season was over after he underwent surgery last month. The 27-year-old hardly played this season and with his contract expiring end of the season, it seems his time at Naturena might be coming to an end.
Kaizer Chiefs new signing Nkanyiso Shinga, will miss the rest of the season after suffering an injury on his debut for Kaizer Chiefs against Richards Bay FC. The left-back did play a few minutes on his debut before he was forced out with an injury.
Amakhosi are also without Given Msimango, Brandon Petersen, Mfundo Vilakazi, Inacio Miguel, and Etiosa Ighodaro.
Which players are available for Kaizer Chiefs?
In defence, Zwith Kwinika will be forced to play alongside Reeve Frosler or Thabo Monyane at centre-back against Durban City. In the midfield, Amakhosi have options in the absence of Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
