Kaizer Chiefs to finally unleash these five new players
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Kaizer Chiefs are facing an unwanted piece of history. The mighty Amakhosi have suffered four consecutive defeats for the first time since the club was founded.

The latest setback was last week’s narrow 1–0 defeat away to Richards Bay. It was another frustrating night for the Soweto giants, with the Natal Rich Boyz failing to convert three big chances in the late minutes.

KAIZER CHIEFS SLUMP CONTINUES

The Richards Bay loss followed a painful afternoon just days earlier when Kaizer Chiefs were beaten 3–0 by Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby on 28 February at FNB Stadium. In front of a packed home crowd, Amakhosi never truly found their rhythm as the Sea Robbers punished their defence.

The downward spiral began even earlier in February when Kaizer Chiefs saw their hopes in continental football come to an abrupt end. On 14 February, Amakhosi travelled to Egypt, where they lost 2–1 to Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite a late goal from Glody Lilepo, the result confirmed Kaizer Chiefs’ elimination from the competition on goal difference.

When the team returned to domestic action, the struggles continued. Kaizer Chiefs then suffered a 2–1 defeat at home to Stellenbosch FC on 24 February.

Across those four matches, Amakhosi have conceded eight goals.

The pressure is now firmly on Kaizer Chiefs to respond. The Soweto giants will have an opportunity to end the losing streak when they host Durban City on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

The Glamour Boys sit in 6th place in the Betway Premiership standings with 30 points from 18 matches. They find themselves trailing both league leaders, Orlando Pirates and second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, by 14 points, as both rivals are tied on 44 points.
