NTSEKI: In South Africa you are declared useless before you are even born

After the Kaizer Chiefs’ triumph in the MTN8, head coach Molefi Ntseki responded to those who had criticized the team’s performance.

After beating Cape Town City by a score of 2-1 in an exciting quarterfinal match that took place on Sunday afternoon in the Mother City, Amakhosi advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious championship.

Ntseki’s hiring as Chiefs coach in June was met with so much criticism from supporters who had anticipated seeing a different face on the Soweto giants’ technical bench. Since then, the former Bafana Bafana mentor has responded to opponents of Ntseki’s selection as Chiefs coach.

When addressing to press, Ntseki said, “I think, one I need to thank the management and the board of the club because the appointment was made primarily because of the need to have a continuation in terms of the tactical plan of the club and also the projections.”

“By the way, I was in charge of Technical, and reports were delivered, and we became aware that there were some facets of our operation that need improvement. I think it was the plan from the club to say, ‘Look, we have to have somebody from within so that we can continue with our technical team.”

“There was a lot of talk about other coaches coming to Kaizer Chiefs, but the club never stated anything about anybody coming to the club. I responded to the general public and anyone else who had questions about me by stating that it is normal and that I will continue to do so here.”

“In South Africa, you are deemed worthless before you are even born, and I believe that this is a process that each and every one of us ought to have an awareness of,” the coach continued.”

“When you are carried for nine months, there is respect and belief that whoever is going to be born on this earth is going to have a significant contribution to make. When you are born on this earth, you will have a lot to contribute.”

“I think the most important thing for me to do is to say thank you to the supporters, thank you to the club, and thank you to the chairman for giving me this opportunity to coach the club and for the support I’m getting from everybody, including the technical team,” Ntseki said in conclusion.
