Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt has weighed in on the potential debut of Olisa Ndah in their upcoming match against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Cape Winelands side will travel to FNB Stadium on Tuesday, 24 February, to face Amakhosi in a Betway Premiership clash, with kick-off set for 19:30.
Stellies will be without their key centre-back Thabo Moloisane, who received a red card in the Nedbank Cup match against Golden Arrows on Saturday at King Zwelithini Stadium, where his side suffered a 1–0 defeat.
Hunt is hoping that by then their new signing, Ndah, will have received his work permit from Home Affairs in order to feature against the Soweto giants.
Ndah recently penned a deal with the Western Cape outfit after parting ways with Orlando Pirates during the January transfer window.
“Ndah, we are hoping he will be ready for us on Tuesday, let’s see,” said Hunt.
Regarding the match, Hunt feels they will be up against a well-rested Kaizer Chiefs side. The Phefeni Glamour Boys were last in action in the CAF Confederation Cup, when they lost to Zamalek SC on 14 February.
Since then, Stellies have played three matches, including fixtures in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Betway Premiership and the Nedbank Cup.
“We will play a game on Tuesday against Chiefs, they have played one in ten days, we have played [three] in eight days or something,” said Hunt.
“That includes travelling, it just happens like that, and you’ve got to take it and move on.”
